A number of sites are reporting that the version of OS X shipping from WWDC as part of the Intel development kit will run on any old PC. I hate to be the skeptic, but I will believe it when I see it. Someone show me an eMachine, or hell even a high end Alienware machine running this build and I will change my mind — but I think this is a bunch of talk before anyone has actually tried it. To add to it The Shape of Days is reporting that this version of OS X is already making its way through the underground of the internet file sharing community. The Shape of Days, whom I think is the source of all of this news, goes on to say in its lengthy article that

"Because the Intel version of Mac OS X thatÕs being distributed to developers is a one-off build, future software patches, including all-important security patches, will not install on top of it, making it totally useless to anybody whoÕs not a developer of Mac software."

In short he's suggesting this is a taste test for all those PC users and Apple might be releasing an OS X version that runs on any Intel hardware anticipating that it will be pirated and some of those pirates might become intrigued enough to make the switch.
